Warm, fun, and focused on early learning
GVCC is a non-profit center focused on early childhood education in a warm and fun environment. We offer care for infant through school-age children. GVCC opened in 1994 and is licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care and is NAEYC accredited.
Our entire team of talented and caring teachers are certified in CPR and First Aid, and they attend workshops in the childcare field to bring new strategies and best practices to our Center.
Programs by age
From our program pages. Our academic year runs September to June, with a summer program in July and August.
Infant & toddler
Infant Room (Infant One & Two)
Split by motor ability and age — floor play for younger infants, climbing and musical toys for older infants. Daily journal for parents.
Toddler One
Emotional needs, social skills, creative and motor activities, lots of singing and reading aloud.
Toddler Two
Greater independence, self-help skills and potty introduction — children do not need to be potty trained.
Preschool & pre-K
Preschool
Hands-on learning centers: blocks, dramatic play, sensory, writing & language, math & science, art.
Pre-Kindergarten
Language, science, math and diversity; one letter per week and practice writing their name.
Kindergarten & school age
Kindergarten — full-day or part-time
Common Core–aligned math, a letter book kit, daily journaling and a homework folder to prepare for first grade.
Before & After School
Bus drop-off about 3:40 PM, snack, 45 minutes of homework time with a teacher, then free play until pickup. Full days on public school holidays and vacations.
Summer program
Fun weekly themes for pre-K through school age, with field trips.
Special classes
Spanish
Weekly for preschool through kindergarten.
Art
Weekly for toddler through kindergarten, tied to seasonal themes, with a year-end art show.
Tae Kwon Do
Optional for preschool–K, taught at the center by Kwon’s Tae Kwon Do (additional fee).
CardioKids
Optional weekly creative movement class for preschool–K (additional fee).
